Considerations for the ISP BA-Client “SNAPSHOTPROVIDERFS” Option
Since version 8.1.8 of the STORAGE PROTECT BA-Client on Windows, the default option for SNAPSHOTPROVIDERFS has changed from NONE to VSS.
While this usually is useful when backing up local filesystems, performance can come down when using this option for large mounted filesystems (e.g. NAS filers).
When experiencing slow backups with MAGS, consider adding a new line in your dsm.opt-File on the MAGS system:
SNAPSHOTPROVIDERFS NONE
